Balladeer Engelbert Humperdinck is still going strong at 82 years of age and has just announced plans to tour Australia early next year. The veteran entertainer rose to fame when his single Release Me prevented new Beatles track Penny Lane from charting at number one in 1967. He went on to record many hits including Quando Quando Quando, A Man Without Love and The Last Waltz. His tour will see him perform at some of the nation’s most popular venues including Sydney’s State Theatre and Melbourne’s Palais in early March. The tour will showcase music from his latest album 50 along with hits from throughout his career. Humperdinck’s career has spanned 50 years, 64 gold albums, 35 platinum albums four Grammy nominations and a Golden Globe award.
