As Aussies prepare to bring in the new year major retailers have released their trading hours for the last day of 2023 and the first day of 2024.
January 1 is a public holiday in all states and territories, while South Australia and the Northern Territory start the party earlier with a New Year's Eve public holiday starting 7pm on December 31.

New Year's Eve
Woolworths, Westfield shopping centres, Target and Bunnings all open.
ALDI is open with reduced trading hours and Coles stores are open except Queensland's Goondiwindi, Mt Isa and Ayr locations.
Kmart is open except the Queensland K Hub stores at Bowen, Charters Towers, Ayr, Roma, Chinchilla, Goondiwindi and Mt Isa, and Esperance in WA.
Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and First Choice Liquor Market open except in the Northern Territory.
All BWS and Dan Murphy's open.
New Year's Day
ALDI open with reduced trading hours, some SA stores will be closed.
Coles is open but Adelaide metro stores are closed, with the exception of Rundle Place, and the store in Tom Price WA is also shut.
Woolworths open except Adelaide metro stores and Millicent SA, Esperance, Katanning and Northam WA.
Westfield shopping centres are open in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, and closed in the ACT, NSW and South Australia.
Target is open except NSW's Wollongong store and South Australia where all are closed but for the Centrepoint store.
Kmart open except some South Australian stores and Esperance in WA.
BWS and Dan Murphy's open with reduced trading hours.
Most Liquorland stores are open but some are closed in NSW (Charlestown and Lismore), Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
First Choice Liquor Market open except Charlestown and Lismore in NSW, some Queensland stores, and Golden Grove and Hindmarsh SA.
Vintage Cellars open except Carlton in Victoria, Queensland's Southbank, Chapel Hill and Indooroopilly, Norwood SA, and Mt Lawley, Karrinyup, Cottesloe and Myaree WA.
Bunnings stores are open.
