Twitter users are bracing for a rebrand as executive chairman Elon Musk bids "adieu" to "all the birds".

The iconic bird logo is set to be replaced with an X and x.com now takes web users to the Twitter website.
Mr Musk unleashed a series of Tweets from his account on July 23 where he said he loved negative feedback on the platform, "vastly preferable to some sniffy censorship bureau".
"And soon we will bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds," he said.
"If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we'll make go live worldwide tomorrow."
Hours later he confirmed an interim X logo would be taking the place of the blue bird.
Twitter chief executive Linda Yaccarino said there was "absolutely no limit" to Twitter's transformation as X.
"Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we're just beginning to imagine," she said in a Tweet.
"We've already started to see X take shape over the past eight months through our rapid feature launches, but we're just getting started."

The rebrand comes after a series of changes by the company including limiting how many tweets non-paying users can see each day.
This change saw Meta launch its rival app Threads with 113 million people joining up in its first week.
