If you're looking to zhoosh-up your living space during lockdown, try the plant experts over at Sully's Nursery Kurmond, who are delivering to locals while the NSW Government's COVID-19 stay-at-home orders are in place.
Owner Ben Sullivan said support from the locals north of the river had been keeping his business afloat during these trying past 12 months.
"We've done okay through bushfire, floods and now COVID; we've been smashed by every angle but have been able to scrape through every single time due to the positivity of our customers," Mr Sullivan told the Gazette.
"We have the ability to grow things and offer them a fair price so the locals are more inclined to come here.
"We're all pretty positive this side of the river and in the Hawkesbury we're all really positive despite the lockdown."
Mr Sullivan's sales doubled in 2020 at the start of the pandemic and during the first lockdown.
"It made me recover from droughts and bushfires and brought me even," he said.
Though the current lockdown is much quieter for Sully's Nursery, Mr Sullivan has been delivering to locals who contact him through his Facebook and Instagram pages.
"I delivered to an old lady who is 96 and she couldn't get out of the house for two or three weeks. Her granddaughter told me that she was stoked because that delivery gave her something to do outside on her property, and she had some nice new flowers to look at," he said.
Sully's specialises in everything from exotics to ground covers, indoor plants, fruit trees, bare root stock and potted colour.
He can also do potting mix, sugar cane mulch and hanging pots, and he's just received a big new shipment of indoor pots and plants.
