There will be aircraft noise over RAAF Base Richmond on Wednesday and Thursday as the Air Force conducts flight training over the Hawkesbury.
F-35A Lightning II pilots from No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit will conduct diversion training into RAAF Base Richmond from approximately 1pm until 5pm on Wednesday, March 3, and from approximately 9.30am until 5pm on Thursday, March 4.
RAAF said the aircraft will operate in pairs conducting instrument approach and circuit training into the Richmond base, before departing to return to RAAF Base Williamtown.
Diversion training is an essential part of training on fast jet aircraft to enable pilots to land at different airfields.
The Air Force warned that flying was subject to change due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather, and other aviation considerations.
They said noise reduction and the environment were vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.
