Much-loved children's program Bluey will make its stage debut at Sydney Coliseum Theatre at Rooty Hill for eight shows from May 7 to 9.
Bluey's Big Play The Stage show is a new theatrical adaptation of the Emmy award-winning show, featuring an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and music by Bluey composer Joff Bush.
Presented by BBC Studios and Andrew Kay in association with QPAC's Out of the Box and Windmill Theatre Co., Bluey's Big Play The Stage Show stars the entire Heeler family - Bluey, her sister Bingo, dad Bandit and mum Chilli.
Featuring brilliantly created puppets, this is Bluey as fans have never seen before, live on stage.
"Like the rest of Australia, we love Bluey and it's a thrill and a privilege to bring these brilliant characters into the three dimensional world. We can't wait to see fans across NSW and beyond in 2021," said the show's director Rosemary Myers.
Adored by both parents and kids, Bluey is the most-watched series on ABC iview, with more than 480 million plays acros the first and second series.
In June 2019, BBC Studios struck a global broadcast deal with Disney to premiere Bluey in all territories outside Australia, New Zealand and China.
The home-grown animated series has enjoyed critical success in Australia and globally, winning a Logie Award for "Most Outstanding Children's Program" in 2019, an AACTA Award for "Best Children's Program" in 2019 and 2020, and an International Emmy Kids Award in the Pre-school category in 2020.
Bluey is produced by Ludo Studio for ABC Kids. Both series received production support from the Australian Government through Screen Australia, and Queensland Government through Screen Queensland.
