Hawkesbury Independent School's million dollar construction plans have been given a healthy kick along by the Federal Government.
The Kurrajong-based school will receive $600,000 under the government's Capital Grants Program to go towards the project, whcih will see the building of two primary learning areas, a multipurpose hall and a staff room.
Liberal Senator for Western Sydney Marise Payne said students and teachers thrived when their schools had modern, up-to-date facilities.
"Securing this funding will help enhance the learning environment at Hawkesbury Independent School," she said.
"Our Government is providing a record $314.7 billion for all Australian schools from 2018 to 2029."
Ms Payne said the project was a part of the government's Economic Recovery Plan, the national strategy formed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
