What do you get when you cross a Volkswagen Kombi with a keg of beer? It's Kombi Keg mobile bar and entertainment, and Pitt Town couple Kaycie and Rob De Celis are the latest to enter into the franchise which has seen 50 Kombis transformed into portable drinks stations serving-up beer, wine, soft drinks, cocktails, mocktails and juices at events around the world.

"We started in August during COVID and everyone thought we were crazy," said co-owner Mrs De Celis, who left a job in the corporate world to buy into the Kombi Keg brand.
She and her husband now own the only Kombi Keg in Sydney's north-west, and they travel all around to serve drinks at weddings, engagements, hens and bucks parties, corporate events, birthdays and festivals.
The Kombi Keg has six taps for ice cold beer, cider, wine, prosecco, cocktails, kombucha, soft drinks, juice and more. If it's available to buy in a keg, you can serve it from the Kombi.
The vehicle also boasts a pop-up roof with a 55-inch smart TV to show photos and videos, corporate branding, slideshows, or your favourite sporting match.
"I just wanted to do something fun and create memories for people," Mrs De Celis said.
"The Kombi Keg is just so unique and quirky. We're a totally different concept to the bar catering industry that's never been seen before."
Many groups have been booking the Kombi Keg for the experience; you can choose to either have Mr and Mrs De Celis serve you drinks, or you can pop behind the bar and do it yourself.
"We're not just there to provide the bar catering, we're also there to create that experience for people," Mrs De Celis said.
"I have a background in hospitality and HR, so mixing that together gives me a really good skill-set for the planning and resourcing that's needed at these events."
Last week, a school formal group of 250 Year 12 students booked the vehicle, which served a whopping 380 litres of soft drinks.
The De Celises call their Kombi 'Tiny Dancer' as she was born in 1970. They are soon to add another member to the family, little Baby Bop, a miniature model of the Kombi in tabletop format that offers four taps and will be available for overnight hire.
