Hawkesbury Police is appealing for witnesses or anyone who has CCTV footage of vehicles involved in thefts from numerous motor vehicles in McGraths Hill.
Red House Road, Smallwood Road and Meares Road at McGraths Hill were the subject of numerous 'steal from motor vehicle' incidents in the early hours of Saturday, September 19.
Police said all incidents could have been avoided had the vehicles been locked, and proceeds of the crimes were all opportunistic items - some of which could lead to the commission of further offences such as frauds.
Police have identified that several offenders in four different vehicles were responsible.
Authorities are looking for witnesses or anyone who may have CCTV which captures the vehicles matching the following descriptions: a gold-coloured sedan, blue hatch back, white Volkswagen station wagon and a silver VW Passat, in the McGraths Hill area at this time.
These vehicles would move through the area after they dropped off the offenders, who in turn moved along looking for unlocked vehicles.
In conjunction with those incidents Police are investigating a vehicle fire incident on Windsor Road, Vineyard, near Brennans Dam Road shortly after 4am on the same morning. The damaged vehicle was a Silver VW Passat, which had originally been stolen from the Pymble area.
If you have any information on these matters please contact Hawkesbury Police Command on 4587 4099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
