It was an exciting round of rugby for Hawkesbury City Junior Rugby League as the club's first ever women's team took to the field in front of a home crowd for their debut game.
Nerves were felt all around as the Under 16 Women's side ran out onto Turnbull Oval, North Richmond against St Mary's, but almost immediately they took control of the match.
Hawkesbury opened the scoring with a try in the third minute and from there were unstoppable.
They had five tries by the 25th minute mark, including three in the opening 10 minutes.
The girls determination shined through as they played great defence and attacked the ball throughout the whole game.
The match ended with the Hawks dominating 28 - 10, scoring a total of six tries.
Hawkesbury City Secretary Kathy Milson said the match was excellent.
"It went really well," she said. "The girls were excited, nervous to begin with but they were really excited. There was a good crowd as well.
"The girls were ecstatic to win. None of them have ever played before so they were really happy to get out to such a lead and win.
"The coach was over the moon and now they have four more games and then onto semi's."
Hawkesbury's Under 16 Women's face St Clair away from home this Saturday, August 8, before returning to Turnbull Oval for two straight weeks of home matches.
