Maktab Tarighat Oveyssi Shahmaghsoudi Inc. (MTO) School of Islamic Sufism will be celebrating Eid al Adha, one of the holiest days on the Islamic calendar, with global pilgrimage to give back to the next generation, on July 31.
They will donate thousands of essentials to low income youth-organizations, schools and families across all MTO centers in 35 cities throughout Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
In addition to areas across Sydney MTO will carry out work with organisations across Western Sydney, including in the Hawkesbury as they work with Hawkebsury Helping Hands.
Other Western Sydney organisations include; The Shed, Baabayn's Youth and Kids, Marist 180, Blacktown Women's and Health Centre and Meals Plus (Parramatta Mission).
"On this holiest of days, Muslims all around the world come together in celebration," said MTO London spokesperson Ghonche Alavi.
"This year, due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, Muslims worldwide were not able to observe the Hajj (Islamic pilgrimage) or celebrate Eid al-Adha.
"With this in mind, bringing back hope and empowerment to the next generation is the best celebration of Eid. We are thankful for the opportunity to give back in this way."
MTO had previously worked with Hawkesbury Hands and other groups on May 25 to assist with the COVID-19 pandemic and for the occasion of Eid Fitr - the end of Ramadan.
Hawkesbury Helping Hands were recipients of 150 non-perishable food-bags to give out to the local community.
MTO Shahmaghsoudi Global said, "During this difficult time, many children have been left with feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. Further still, many children have witnessed their parents lose their livelihood, businesses, or jobs. The purpose of this initiative is to give children a sense of empowerment during this otherwise stressful period".
"With everything happening in the world at the moment, it seemed appropriate for us all to come together as a global family and uplift the next generation that has to rebuild all that will be destroyed as a result of this pandemic," said MTO Los Angeles Spokesperson Sara Bavar.
MTO Shahmaghsoudi will once again be in the Hawkesbury with Hawkesbury Helping Hands on July 31, to celebrate Eid al Adha with global pilgrimage and give back to the next generation.
