Hawkesbury singer-songwriter Imogen Clark (25) has unveiled a new single as well as dates for live shows in Sydney and Brisbane - the first shows she will perform to live audiences after her American tour was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Her new single, 'The Making of Me', is the title track from her forthcoming EP which is due for release on August 21.
Following her sold out Live From The Backyard virtual concert series last month - which she performed from the backyard of her family home in Bowen Mountain - Imogen said she was thrilled to be hitting the road for real this August and September.
"Ever since these shows became a possibility, I've been buzzing with energy," Imogen said.
"Playing for fans is my lifeblood, and I've been itching to bring the new songs to life with my band!
I'm working hard to make these shows extra special and the catharsis we all need right now".
The new single was written during a particularly dark time in Imogen's life.
"It's about finding the strength to push through", she said.
"I had no way of knowing when we recorded the song, that I'd be releasing it in the middle of a pandemic right as people around the world are facing their darkest hours. If you're struggling right now, I hope this song speaks to you and helps give you the strength to keep going."
Imogen will be performing twice at The Vanguard in Newtown - 7pm and 9pm - on Thursday, September 10.
She will also be performing live at Brisbane's Black Bear Lodge on Friday, August 21.
