The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah has experienced "significant" damage and will remain closed due to bushfire activity.
A statement on the garden's website said damage from the weekend's fires was still being assessed but it was expected to be closed for the next week.
"We are still assessing the extent of the damage, however the impact on some parts of the garden appears to be significant," the statement said.
"Thankfully, most of the garden's Living Collection along with the main buildings are safe at the moment.
"At this stage, we anticipate it will be at least a week until the garden can be reopened to visitors."
Garden staff thanked locals, emergency service personnel and volunteers "who are dedicating their time and efforts to dealing with the devastating bushfires".
"We will provide further updates on the reopening of the garden on our social media channels," the statement said.
