With seven weeks remaining of the ski season, there's now a deep snow pack ready to go.
At Mount Hotham conditions were reported as ''brilliant'' on Sunday, after almost one metre of snow fell across the Alps in four days, including a 13cm snowfall on Saturday night.
On Sunday afternoon, snow depth was 1.5 metres and well suited in texture to for skiers and boarders.
The snow reached towns across Victoria, falling as low as 400 metres above sea level.
Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) senior meteorologist Dean Stewart said it had been "about 10 or 11 years since we've had such a widespread event of low-level snow across Victoria".
The forecast this week was for no snow and clear conditions Monday to Wednesday, with snowfalls forecast from Thursday.
