Called Livvi's Place Elara, it is the latest addition to the community's park network and features a water play zone as its centrepiece, plus a flying fox, slides, swings, climbing nets, a carousel, fun glider, trampoline loop and a basketball half-court.
Stockland worked alongside the Touched by Olivia Foundation, Variety - the Children's Charity (NSW/ACT), Blacktown City Council and Marsden Park Primary School to ensure the 7,400 square metre playground was inclusive.
The Touched by Olivia Foundation assists communities in building special child-friendly places that encourage social inclusion.
These playgrounds provide an environment for all children, regardless of ability, to play side by side.
Most Touched by Olivia Foundation play spaces are wheelchair accessible and include some soft-fall rubber flooring, visual and audio stimulation, and all are configured to maximise creative, physical, social and cognitive play.
Richard Rhydderch, Stockland general manager, NSW Residential Development, said the playground added another dimension to the array of outdoor spaces already available at Elara.
"Livvi's Place is part of our vision for Elara as a family-friendly, safe and inclusive community which offers an active and healthy lifestyle for residents of all ages,'' Mr Rhydderch said.
"As Elara grows and its green spaces become popular destinations for the greater community to enjoy, we are proud to be able to provide a play zone where every child can play and learn freely."
The Livvi's Place playground is a new addition to Elara's offering of more than 40 hectares of open green space.
Within the 280 hectare community there are new sports fields, 24 hectares of future riparian parklands that will include more than seven continuous kilometres of bike and dog-friendly walking trails, exercise spaces and free barbecue facilities.
When complete, Elara will comprise more than 4,000 homes and will include a shopping village with a supermarket and specialty shops on site, community centre, Aspire retirement village, medical centre and child care facilities.
Elara is 50 kilometres from Sydney's CBD and is conveniently located just 10 minutes by car, or via a free peak hour shuttle, a temporary service provided by Stockland to Schofields Train Station.
Positioned alongside major road links, Elara offers access to the M7 and M4 Motorways and is minutes from Norwest and Sydney Business Parks.
