The NSW Rural Fire Service has advised Hawkesbury residents a hazard reduction burn is schedule to occur near Richmond on June 1.
The RFS Hawkesbury headquarters posted on social media that the burn would take place along The Driftway.
"Please be advised that we will be conducting a hazard reduction this Saturday, June 1 from the Hawkesbury Tip along the Driftway down to Londonderry Road within the [Western Sydney University] grounds," the statement said
"There will be fire trucks along The Driftway for most of the day with traffic control in place.
"Please be aware that there will be smoke in the surrounding areas."
Residents that have questions about the burn can contact the NSW Rural Fire Service.
