An agonising 40 votes separates the two major party candidates in Macquarie 10 days after polls closed in the 2019 federal election.
ELECTION | Forty votes separate Richards, Templeman
With just over 90 per cent of the vote now counted, latest figures published by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) at 7pm on May 26 show Labor's Susan Templeman gained some ground over the LIberals' Sarah Richards during yesterday's count.
Ms Richards had started the day 57 votes ahead, but by the end of the count her lead had narrowed to 40.
Macquarie is now one of just two seats nationally still being counted by the AEC, alongside Lilley in Queensland.
Counting will resume for the seat today.
