Richmond Golf Club and Springwood Country Club will fight out the Division 4 Metropolitan Major Pennants Grand Final this Sunday, March 31, at Terrey Hills Country and Golf Club.
Richmond comfortably defeated Marrickville 4.5 - 2.5 in one Division 4 semi-final on Sunday, whilst Springwood crushed Randwick 5.5-1.5 in the second semi-final.
Both games were played at Twin Creeks Country Club.
Individual results for Richmond were:
- Craig Ellings won 3 and 2
- David Dennis won 1-up
- Tommy Zahn won 4 and 3
- Jason Moss won 5 and 4
- Vaughan Baldry had a draw
- Corey Lowe lost 2 and 1
- Ian Davies lost 1-down.
Springwood and Richmond will now meet this Sunday to determine the Division 4 Premiers.
Both clubs have also automatically won a promotion to Division 3 for the 2020 Major Pennant Series.
Unfortunately, Dunheved GC lost 5 - 2 against Manly GC in their Division 3 semi-final to end their season.
In relegation matches, Leonay crushed Beverley Park 5.5 - 1.5, ensuring that they will remain in Division 4 for 2020.
But Wallacia were soundly beaten 5 - 2 by Muirfield in Division 3 and will now return to Division 4 in 2020.
Grand finals in all five divisions will be held at the Terrey Hills Country and Golf Club, March 31.
Richmond will compete in the Division 4 final.
Day one of the 2019 NSWVGA Stroke-Play Championships was abandoned early on Monday due to the state of the course.
Relentless rain from the early hours of the morning eventually made the course unplayable, with multiple fairways and greens under water.
The event was reverted to a 36-hole tournament, with day two played at Glenmore Heritage Valley Golf Club and day three at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club.
Richmond Golf Club will host the Richmond Cup this Saturday, March 30.
It is set to feature a full field of 162 starters comprised of the best amateur male golfers with a Golf Australia handicap up to 12.4.
Tee-offs will begin from 7am. spectators are welcome.
