A man has allegedly been punched to the ground and knocked unconscious by a teenager at Windsor train station.
The man required facial reconstruction surgery following the assault, which police said took place shortly after 10.45pm on Friday, January 18.
An 18-year-old man and his friend had alighted from a train and allegedly became involved with a 44-year-old man who had also left the train, police stated.
“Police will allege that the teenager turned and punched the man knocking him to the ground,” a police statement said.
“The injured man lost consciousness while the teenager and his friend left the area.
“The injured man eventually made his way from the station and was assisted by a member of the public with emergency services contacted.”
Hawkesbury police attended and established a crime scene, and the injured man was taken to Nepean Hospital where he was due to undergo surgery.
“The two men were located a short distance away and arrested by officers who took them to Windsor police station,” police stated. “One man was released without charge while the 18-year-old was charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm.”
The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court on January 19.
