Police are calling for ex-service members from the 1970s to come forward as part of investigations into the Daruk Training School.
Nepean Police put out a call on social media for those who served in 1976 or 1977 to come forward.
“Investigators from Strike Force Ekersley are wishing to speak with ex-service members who attended the HMAS Nirimba in Schofields, NSW, during the years of 1976 or 1977,” the post stated.
“Specifically, if you attended or are aware of an annual swimming carnival at Daruk Training School, Berkshire Park.”
Daruk Training School was located on the site of the present-day John Moroney Correctional Centre.
Strike Force Eckersley was established by the Nepean Police Area Command in late 2016 following a series of complaints made to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Detective Hill at Nepean Police on 4721 9444.
