A tree lopper has been taken to hospital after a branch fell six metres, striking him on the head.
The 23-year-old had been working in Richmond on Friday, December 14 when the incident occurred, a CareFlight statement said.
“The tree lopper was reportedly working at a land clearing when a branch fell from an estimated six metres, hitting him in the head,” the statement said.
“CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked at 9.40am, landing at a carpark in a nearby soccer field.
“CareFlight’s critical care doctor and paramedic made their way through about 300m of vegetation where they treated the patient for mild head injuries.
“The patient was then transported out of the area in a ute and taken to the awaiting CareFlight
Local police and ambulance officers also attended the incident.
