A woman will face court after two large knives were allegedly discovered in a vehicle moments after children were dropped off at a local school.
Officers attached to Strike Force Puma stopped a Jeep Compass driven by a woman on Collith Avenue, South Windsor, about 8.50am on Thursday, October 18, moments after she dropped two children off at school, police will allege.
”A roadside breath test returned a negative result. The driver, a 30-year-old woman, underwent a roadside drug test,” police said in a statement.
“The woman tested positive for the presence of an illicit drug in her system and was prohibited from driving for 24 hours. A further sample will be sent for laboratory analysis to determine if legal action will be taken.
“During a search of the vehicle, police will allege they found two large knives.”
A Riverstone woman was issued with a field court attendance notice for driving while suspended, and custody of a knife in a public place.
She is due to face Windsor Local Court next month.
The woman was also issued a vehicle defect notice and infringements relating to driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
