Three men are behind bars after being charged with murder in connection to the disappearance of Shepparton man Umit Bolat.
Police divers recovered a body during their search for the northern Victorian man on Thursday but the person is yet to be identified.
Three local men aged 26, 29 and 44 were arrested during raids on properties on Wednesday, and on Thursday were charged with murder.
They faced Shepparton Magistrates Court and were remanded in custody until their next court date on February 22.
The 45-year-old Mr Bolat was last seen on August 12 in Shepparton.
Police found the body in water about 3pm Thursday near Dick's Island, close to the regional town of Cobram.
Mr Bolat's yellow ute was found two days after his disappearance in a Shepparton supermarket car park with the keys still in the ignition.
He was reported missing by his sister after failing to keep a number of appointments.
