Stunning gowns took centre stage on the Brownlow Medal red carpet in Melbourne but it wasn't smooth sailing for all the glamorous attendees.
High profile WAGs Nadia Bartel and Jesinta Franklin made their red carpet return with their husbands at Crown Palladium for the vote count to decide the AFL's best and fairest.
Both women stood out in bright white gowns but sequins, metallics and bold colours were also popular.
Dual Brownlow medallist Chris Judd's wife Bec wowed the crowd in a lace, hand-dyed lavender gown by J'Aton Couture.
"The Brownlow (is) always really impressive and I think in the fashion stakes it's always something everyone looks to," Ms Judd said on Monday.
Jarryd Roughead's wife Sarah Dunn said she loved seeing what everyone else was wearing.
"(Lots of) colour, full skirts and and slim silhouettes. Everyone looks beautiful, they always do and I love to see what everyone is wearing," Ms Dunn said.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing for some with wardrobe malfunctions causing panic attacks.
Kalinda Salla, partner of Brisbane captain Dayne Zorko, tried her dress on early Monday only to have the zip break.
"This morning I tried the dress on when I woke up, I went to do the zip myself and it broke," she told AAP.
"I called guest services, a lady came and made it worse ... so at 7.30am I went into reception in this dress, hair still just woken up and got into a taxi to the city to an alterations place."
Richmond captain Trent Cotchin's wife, Brooke, had trouble controlling her red Jason Grech gown in Melbourne's windy weather.
"I wasn't prepared for the wind, I didn't realise it was windy and it's freezing but it's fine," Ms Cotchin said.
