Boxer Joel Brunker is set to return to the Hawkesbury for his first local fight since 2015 as the main event in the November 10 Battle of the Best.
The super featherweight will face off against Indonesian Rivo Renkung at North Richmond Panthers, and said he was looking forward to being in front of local supporters again.
“The last time I had a fight in the Hawkesbury was 2015,” the Glossodia local said.
“I much prefer it [fighting locally]. I train better when I’m fighting at home because I know I’m fighting in front of my own people, it’s a much better performance.

“We’re hoping if this one goes well … we’ll hopefully do at least two or three of them.”
Brunker had his last fight in July of this year, where he suffered only the third loss of his 36-fight career to New Zealander Nort Beauchamp on points.
He will go up against 34-year-old Renkung in 10, three-minute rounds, and is looking forward to facing his seasoned opponent.
“He is a tough journeyman, he knows how to travel,” Brunker said.
“He’s had a lot of professional fights, he’s fought in a lot of countries.
“It should be a good fight.”
The second professional fight on the night will see Aussie TC Priestly go up against Korean John Min in four, three-minute rounds.
There will also be a full card of amateur bouts taking place that will feature fighters from gyms around the Hawkesbury, Brunker said.
“We’ve got six amateur fights on the night, with all local boys,” Brunker said.
“It’s going to be a full house.”
Corporate tables of 10 for the event are now selling.
A limited number of general admission tickets will be available at the door from 6pm on November 10, and promoters are expecting a large crowd for the event.
