THREE new seats have been installed at the Hawkesbury Hospital grounds, to offer patients or family and friends a break when walking to the back car park of the facility.
The chairs were purchased after the hospital’s Community Board of Advice received a suggestion from a member of the public to have them installed.
The board’s chair Brenda Harold OAM said members were happy to have been able to offer some assistance.
“When the Community Board of Advice heard from a member of our community about the difficulty of walking from the lower car park to the hospital main entrance, we as a board immediately took up the challenge of providing three new bench seats to meet the public’s needs,” she said.
“The long walk can be difficult if you are disabled, elderly or very unwell. The Community Board of Advice are very mindful of these difficulties and stepped in to make life a little easier for the Hawkesbury community.”
Residents are encouraged to contact the board with suggestions.
