If Susan Templeman had a magic wand to immediately fix one thing in the Hawkesbury, it would be to create an easier way to get around the region – particularly across the Hawkesbury River.
The Macquarie MP was special guest on the Gazette’s podcast this week, and talked about everything from life before politics to what she believes are the biggest issues in the seat.
Also on the agenda for this week was the shocking story of the nine dead greyhounds discovered in a mass grave at a Marsden Park property, and the seizure of others by the NSW RSPCA, and how locals have reacted both in and outside the local industry.
Finally, 12 months on from its highly successful Hawkesbury 100 Faces project, the Gazette is launching a photographic initiative to capture images and stories of local people and their pets.
Local residents are invited to send in pictures of themselves with their pet – be it everything from a horse to a hamster – as well as a short story describing the special bond they share.
Thirty entries will be chosen to be photographer by the Gazette’s award-winning photographer Geoff Jones and featured in a new project.
Images should be jpegs of 3MB or less, and emailed to mlawrence@fairfaxmedia.com.au.
