THE state government has allocated $13 million to build a Police Citizens and Youth Club in the Hawkesbury.
The exact location of the centre has yet to be decided upon.
Nevertheless, the money will be allocated according to Member for Hawkesbury Dominic Perrottet.
“PCYC does exceptional work engaging young people to feel connected to their local community and aspire to be constructive members of society,” said Mr Perrottet.
“Once built, this brand new facility will have indoor sports courts, gymnastics, a fitness and wellness centre, and numerous multi-purpose activity spaces.
“We want to provide kids and teens with the opportunities to build leadership and life skills, create new friendships and stay physically active.
“The new Hawkesbury PCYC will do just that.”
Rotary Club of Windsor member Tony Miller said he had advocated for a PCYC in the Hawkesbury for many years.
“I am very pleased to see our efforts have reached a result where the Hawkesbury will have a PCYC that fulfils the needs of the community, and the Rotary Club of Windsor will continue its support and association of PCYC.”
