THE Nor-West Jets have been taken down by the University of Technology Sydney Bats in a narrow loss.
The round eight AFL Sydney division one match saw the Jets go down by eight points, with the final score 10.4-64 to 7.14-56.
The Jets fell behind on the scorecard early, as the Bats jumped out to a three-goal lead in the first quarter.
They booted two goals but also had eight behinds in the second quarter, which proved to be pivotal in a game where they lost by just eight points.
The Jets kicked another two in the third and three in the fourth quarter, and were roughly even with the Bats, but could not overcome their lacklustre start to the match.
Aiden Sharvell was the leading goal kicker with three for the Jets, while Taffy Lewis kicked two and Scott Braid and Joe Groenewegen also kicked one each.
The loss was the third of the Jets’ season and the club is in third place on the ladder, behind Sydney University and Randwick City.
In round 9, the Jets will play the Pennant Hills Demons on June 16.
