HAWKESBURY Council will hold a chemical clean out event at the Hawkesbury Showground on Sunday, July 1.
The clean out is a chance to get rid of any unwanted chemicals and other household items such as batteries that have chemicals in them.
A list of common dropped off items includes: household cleaners and solvents; batteries; fluorescent globes and tubes; paint and paint related products; pesticides and herbicides; poisons; gas bottles; fire extinguishers; pool chemicals; hobby chemicals; acids and alkalis; car batteries; motor oils; as well as fuels and fluids.

Residents can attend clean outs in other areas across Sydney as well. Hawkesbury residents can also access the Penrith Community Recycling Centre at Gate 3, 96 Dunheved Circuit, St Marys which is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 2pm and Saturday 8am to midday (closed Sundays & Public holidays). It is a free drop off location.
