WINDSOR Downs sprintcar driver Ashleigh Jack has finished fourth in the NSW Wingless Sprint Club Championship point standings while racing with the Aussie Racing team, and even picked up a victory during a great season of motor racing.
Jack, along with her team mate Luke Sayre, compiled enough points over the season for the pair to finish in fourth place in the team championship standings, while driving in wingless sprintcars.
Jack finished in seventh-place overall out of the NSW drivers in the championship, and to boot added a victory to her resume during the season.
Jack had a nasty crash at the Nowra Speedway last season, but returned to the same track to grab her first ever sprintcar victory this year.
“I’m very happy with how the season went, being able to take out my first feature-race win, along with fourth in the NSW Club Championship,” said Jack as she reflected upon her season.
“Big thanks to team supporters, mum and dad (Alana and Leon), the Sayre family and Doug Ware, who all make it both enjoyable and possible to go racing.”
Improved fitness was one of the things Jack cited for her good season behind the wheel.
Jack made it into every feature race during the season, bar one qualification for a B main event, and the improved fitness played a big part in that she felt.
She was also named driver’s driver at the Easter Trail event.
Jack was in her fourth season racing wingless sprintcars.
