THE Nor-West Jets have started off their 2018 season with a loss to the University of Technology Sydney Bats.
The Jets suffered a 55-point loss to the Bats in the opening round of the AFL Sydney division one clash at Pioneers Park.
Brad Burn, Scott Braid and Luke Hodges were the goal scorers for the Jets in the 11.11-77 to 3.4-22 loss at the weekend.
There has been a reshuffle of the AFL Sydney divisions, but the Jets are essentially playing one division higher than they have for the past few seasons, thanks to a number of finals finishes in recent years.
Jets coach Casey Wenselowski said last week he was unsure what to expect moving up a division this year.
The Jets went into the game with a number of players in doubt and will hope to have some reinforcements arrive for round two of the competition.
In round two, the Jets will take on Sydney University at Sydney University Oval 1 from 2.30pm on Saturday.
