Reader of the Hawkesbury Gazette Tasha Cullen posted on Facebook that a sinkhole “the size of a Barina” had opened up on Hawkesbury Valley Way.
The workers were fixing another burst water main nearby when they were called to attend the new one.
Motorists are advised to take care when travelling as speed restrictions are in place.
