SNAPPA the macaw has been found safe and sound and returned to owners Barry and Susan Lane.
Snappa, well known as the mascot of Windsor Seafoods, became startled and flew off from Mr Lane’s Freemans Reach residence, and was found on a farm nearby.
Naturally, both Susan and Barry were quick to react and hurried over to the property where Barry was able to pick up the very hungry and thirsty Snappa, who was more than ready to go back home.
Speaking to Mr Lane this afternoon he was overwhelmed by the community response and the way that social media facilitated in them safely finding Snappa, who is not just his favourite parrot, but a parrot that is loved by many in the Hawkesbury area and beyond.
“Thanks to everyone for sharing the post” he said.
After a stressful 18 hours the Lane family can now relax knowing that dear Snappa is safe, fed and happy at home.
