A 12-year-old girl has suffered severe lacerations to her neck after running into a barbed wire fence while riding a motorbike at Maroota.

The CareFlight rescue helicopter crew was called to the scene shortly before 2pm on Sunday, February 4, landing on the property.
“At the scene they found the girl had suffered severe lacerations to the neck when she collided with the barbed wire fence,” a CareFlight statement said.
“CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated her at the scene. NSW Ambulance arrived by road and also helped provide treatment.
“The emergency services team, including police, together carried the girl to the helicopter.”
The girl was flown to Westmead Children's Hospital in a stable condition.
