The 37 entries in this year’s garden competition had their year of toiling recognised with the wonderful slide show that’s always a part of the competition’s awards night.
The glorious pictures of all the gardens were taken by Hawkesbury Camera Club, showcasing the labours of love displayed at the event at Windsor RSL on Wednesday, October 18,
Judge Patrick McManus had a hard job choosing the winners out of a high quality field.
All entries were divided into three regions: North, South and West and an overall best garden for each region was determined.
Ebenezer Public School won Best Regional Garden - North, Paul Evans won Best Regional Garden - South and Mary Want won Best Regional Garden - West.
The top honour of Grand Champion Garden was won by Mary Want who received a perpetual trophy engraved with all Grand Champion winners from the past, and many other prizes.
Mayor Mary Lyons-Buckett and Councillor Patrick Conolly praised entrants on their gardens in this year’s competition.
“Council would like to thank all members of the Hawkesbury Camera Club for donating their time to assist with organising the competition and photographing every garden,” the mayor said.
“Thank you also to our sponsor Windsor RSL for providing the venue for our presentation and the many other local business who supported this year’s competition,” Councillor Conolly added.
