The wacky and the wonderful converged at Bendigo Showgrounds on Sunday for the annual Bendigo Record Comic and Toy Fair.

Princess Leia, Wonder Woman and medieval jousters all made an appearance for the event, which featured two guest speakers, one of whom – Alexandra Tynan – was an original costume designer for the famous television series Doctor Who.
The other guest speaker, Helly Pearson-Smith, spoke of her experience as an extra for the movie The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies.
The Cosplay Contest was a central feature of the event, as was the fan zones will return with several Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who and Bricks and Lego fan groups in attendance.
Event organiser Peter Pascoe said he hoped to raise $1000 for the Peter MacCallum Cancer foundation, part of which would be raised via an art auction.
Around 2000 people attended the event at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre, which was going from strength to strength, according to Mr Pascoe.
