FREEMANS Reach and Pitt Town kicked their Hawkesbury District Cricket seasons off with a win in the first grade competition.
During the round one matches the teams beat North Richmond and Riverstone respectively.
After Freemans Reach posted 266 in the first innings, thanks partly to 105 by Blake Giddy, North Richmond certainly did not go down without a fight.
Chasing a decent total, North Richmond continuously chipped away at the score with Andrew Cash, 59, complimenting a rear-guard action by Grant Ogg, 57, and Andrew Jay, 41. The team posted 249 before being bowled out.
Pitt Town posted 193 before rolling Riverstone for 73.
Pitt Town’s Kevin Campbell scored 67 in the first innings, Glen Napier took four wickets with Riverstone batting.
With a first innings victory secure, Riverstone was sent back in, posting 77 before stumps.
