Summer and Nicholas are the epitome of love’s young dream, having been school friends and being in the same social circles, it was only after they had left school that Summer out of the blue decided to give him a call.

“We didn’t date until after we had left school, I suppose we had never seen each other as a couple,” Summer said.
“It was actually me that contacted him after we had left school, I called him, which is really weird for me because I don’t usually do that.
“But it worked out well as we started dating not long after.”
After three years together the couple had started to talk about the future and possibility of getting engaged, once the ring was picked Summer had to play the waiting game to find out how Nicholas was going to pop the question.
“When we first started dating Nick brought me to Green’s Beach for the day and he wanted to recreate our first date for the proposal, it was really special and sweet,” Summer said.
For Summer the wedding planning process was a breeze, taking everything in her stride.
“I didn’t start planning the wedding until eight months into the engagement, we just went with the flow and everything fell into place - we were very lucky,” Summer said.
“My mum helped out a lot along with my auntie, who is a florist, they done a lot of the decorating and setting up which was amazing, they were both fantastic.”
Like most young couples Summer and Nicholas had a budget to stick to make their wedding day work financially for them without giving up what they both wanted.
However when it came to the fairytale wedding dress, the rule was made to be broken.
“When I was wedding dress shopping I couldn’t find anything I liked, I finally settled on a silk dress, but I was even unsure about that,” Summer said.
“The girls in Cheveux were fantastic and when I went back a second time I saw this dress I didn’t try on the last time as it was out of my price range.
“I tried it on and loved it, it had an ivory top, sheer and lace back and the decal was gorgeous.
“It was slim fitting but I really wanted to have a princess dress and thought I would regret it if I didn’t.
“I got an overskirt from Cheveux and when I was getting the alterations we made it adjustable to it could be hooked on and off, meaning I got the best of both worlds and was able to change the dress throughout the day.”
Summer and Nicholas had a stunning outdoor service at Sharmans Wines before their reception at Cataract on Paterson, Launceston.
“Even though I am a Christian I’m not a fan of the closed in church spaces and so we opted for an outdoor wedding, which was perfect and it was nice to be close to nature,” summer said.
“We chose the Cataract because it has a lovely rustic and country feel, I grew up in the country and loved the rustic feel, it fitted into our theme perfectly.”
After an evening of celebrations with their closest family and friends Summer and Nicholas headed off on honeymoon to Hamilton Island.
