It was really good getting back on the park after missing the last couple of games through injury, especially in a massive game like the one we played against Sydney Derby on the weekend.
I think they started the game a little bit sharper and had some good chances early on but Vedran stood tall in goals.
After that I think we took the ascendancy and had some good sniffs but we just lacked that killer instinct to take us the rest of the way.
It was good to keep the first clean sheet of the season and I think we dominated the game possession-wise. We also had some good chances but in the end I think the draw was the fair result.
Our fans were amazing once again. I couldn’t believe that it was an away game; it still blows my mind every time.
Our fans were a lot louder than their fans and that’s a testament to everyone who supports us. It shows how strong we are as a club.
We’ll now look forward to Sunday’s game against Newcastle Jets at Campbelltown Stadium, which will be part of a double header with the women’s team taking on Canberra United before our game.
The Jets have a lot of younger players and they’re just starting to hit their straps. They have been performing admirably the last couple of weeks.
The last time we played them they scored two late goals from set pieces, so it was disappointing to draw that game.
We have to make sure we go out there on Sunday and take the three points. If not then we risk our season slipping away to the point where there’s no coming back.
