Students in Years 3 to 6 attended the presentation, called the Recognise, React, Report Tour, which aims to teach children about personal safety and awareness, including cyber safety and phone safety.
The Daniel Morcombe Foundation was established by parents Bruce and Denise Morcombe in 2005 after their son Daniel was abducted and murdered in December 2003 while waiting to catch a bus on the Sunshine Coast.
The Foundation’s aim is to educate children on how to stay safe in a physical and online environment, and also to support young victims of crime.
The Recognise, React, Report Tour is heading to a number of schools around the country.
It was developed in consultation with Mr and Mrs Morcombe, government departments, the Queensland Police Service, and experts in child safety education.
Representatives from the Australian Federal Police, Clint Bopping and Rosie Garland, conducted the presentation at North Richmond Public School, on behalf of the Foundation.
