RICHMOND Marketplace will be upgraded in a three-year, multi-million-dollar plan to turn the site into a thriving community hub.
Marketplace senior marketing manager Tracey Thomas said works will consist of new amenities and parents room located near the foodcourt, a new centre management office, and updated foodcourt façade and furniture.
Marketplace management will be releasing an information package to the community in the coming weeks, which will include an artist’s impression of the upgrade.
Marketplace centre manager Joe Pinterovic revealed during a recent Hawkesbury City Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting that the new-look site would incorporate features congruent with the heritage houses surrounding the building.
There are nine freestanding tenancies located around the centre, seven of which are heritage-listed cottages originally constructed in the 1860s.
The centre is located on March Street in Richmond, opposite McDonald’s, and was originally opened in 1997.
It is anchored by major retailers Woolworths and Big W, features 53 national and independent speciality stores, and offers 800 undercover parking spaces.
