BUDDING actors and actresses have the chance to sign on for a holiday program run by well known professionals Aaron Jeffery and Zoe Naylor these Christmas holidays at the Richmond School of Arts.
Partners in life and business, Jeffery and Naylor were overwhelmed by the response shown by local people to their first call out for possible class interest earlier in the year, that it inspired them to organise the holiday program.
The pair, who own a property in the Hawkesbury, are well known faces both on Australian television screens and the big screen, including the hit TV series McLoud’s Daughters in which they both played prominent characters.
They said they were excited to bring their experience and passion to the Hawkesbury.
“We saw there was a demand here and with the closest acting school no less than 45 minutes away we wanted to provide the community with access to something locally,” Naylor said.
The pair will offer three different courses, Jeffery will run a three-day ‘acting to camera’ course, while Naylor will run a one-day improvisation class and a one-day presenting class.
Jeffery said they were taking limited numbers for the program to ensure a more intimate experience for the students.
He said his three-day acting to camera course was an intensive program that gave students the tools in strong basic acting technique and the confidence to better perform in front of the camera.
“By end of the three days I often find people have been on a great little journey, and are much more confident in front of the camera,” Jeffery said.
“I also find that they have gotten to know more about themselves in both their personal and emotional lives and at the same time had a really great time.”
Naylor said both her improvisation class and presenting class would help students overcome fears, try something new and help them with confidence.
She said those interested could also sign on for the three classes, as none of them crossover in dates and times.
“The presenting class encompasses voice, movement and finding and empowering authentic voice both in front of an audience and camera,” she said.
“It will be a fantastic personal growth experience and help with confidence and overcoming fears.
“The improvisation class will focus on character development utilising the elements (earth, air, fire, water) and animal work based on Phillipe Gaulier’s teachings.”
Naylor and Jeffery said they hope the holiday program would set a platform for further work with acting enthusiasts in the local community.
