RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW units were deployed to Schofields, to protect a home under threat from fire on Sunday.
A Fire & Rescue NSW spokesman said they responded to a triple-0 report of a grass fire, near Westminster and Chester streets, around 2.45pm on Sunday.
"Crews were on scene 10 minutes later," he said.
They arrived to find a grass fire threatening nearby properties. One property appeared particularly at risk.
‘‘The first crew asked for some additional resources to extinguish it," the Fire & Rescue spokesman said.
‘‘It was jumped on pretty quick."
He said the fire was slow-moving, and was eventually contained to about five acres.
‘‘At the end of the job there were a number of tankers and fire trucks from Fire and Rescue on scene, as well as Rural Fire Service crews," he said.
The area was declared safe just after 4pm.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
