HAWKESBURY City Football Club coach Dean Bertenshaw said he was longing for an end to the "weird" season of football his team has endured.
Bertenshaw reckons weird things just keep happening to his team, and he is hoping for them to end.
However, he will have to wait a while, with four and a half matches to be played over the next two weeks.
The Hawks will host Stanmore on Saturday at 4pm, and travel to play North Shore Mariners the following Saturday.
They also have to catch up another game, and finish half of another, after it was called off because of fog.
The last time the Hawks played Stanmore, the team lost 5-0 as the team was reduced to five men in the first half.
One player was sent off for an awkward tackle, which gifted Stanmore a shot from right in front, while another was carded for a hand ball on the line.
All this, along with the constant injuries, missed practices and rescheduled games, has plagued the Hawks during the season.
Bertenshaw said the team would put up a much better fight against Stanmore on Saturday, provided the weird stuff ended.
"Hopefully after this month we'll get back to playing on a Saturday for the last few rounds of the season," he said.
"I think we'll be ok tomorrow, so if nothing weird happens we should be a chance of winning."
