In a video recorded especially for Fairfax Regional voters, NSW Opposition Leader Luke Foley has emphasised the affect he said the proposed “Polls and Wires” assets sale would have on regional NSW.

Peaking at the Singleton Showground where he launched Labor’s country campaign, Mr Foley made the asset sale the focus of his pitch.
“I’ve announced Labor’s priorities for regional NSW: to keep our electricity network in public hands,” he said.
“The Nationals pretend that country NSW won’t be affected by their privatisation policy.
“One hundred per cent of Transgrid will be sold. A transmission network that covers the length and breadth of NSW.
“Forty per cent of Transgriods employees live and work in NSW and as sure as night follows day if the Coalition parties are re-elected, the country distributor will be sold.
Mr Foley said that Mike Baird couldn’t or wouldn’t say at the debates conclusively whether he’d stop at a fifty per cent sell off of the state’s electricity network.
“We all know a re-elected Coalition government would sell the lot,” Mr Foley said.
The Opposition leader listed schools and hospital as Labor’s other key priorities with TAFEs and roads also on the list.
“And none of it… not a cent of it is funded by a sell off of the people’s electricity network,” he added.
