WestWords and Penrith Regional Gallery have teamed up to host a three-day Young Writers’ Camp for children aged nine to 13.
Children will be joined by author and scriptwriter Stephen Measday and poet Deb Westbury as they go on an adventure with their imagination and creativity.
Inspired by the current exhibition, River to River, participants will work with Deb, Stephen and local artist John Boney to create stories, poems and artworks which they will publish in a beautiful handmade book.
‘‘The non-residential camp will give the young participants the time and space to explore their creativity and tell their stories through creative writing and visual arts workshops,’’ a gallery spokesman said.
The workshop camp will be on Monday, September 29 until Wednesday, October 1, 10am-3pm.
It is $135 for the three-day program which includes all needed materials.
The Penrith Regional Art Gallery is located at 86 River Road, Emu Plains and can be contacted on 47351100.
