Bowen Mountain singer-songwriter Imogen Clark has kicked off a national tour with fellow artists Paige Renee Court (Adelaide) and Darcy Fox (Melbourne).
Imogen, 19, told the Gazette the tour had been an experience she would never forget.
‘‘It has been fantastic being on tour, especially when you are on tour with your friends,’’ Imogen said.
‘‘It has been like a continuous sleepover.’’
Imogen returned home over the weekend to perform at the Fitzroy Hotel in Windsor.
‘‘Our music is very similar, so it makes it a great show for people to come and watch,’’ she said.
‘‘It is great to come back home and see people who have stuck by me this whole time.
‘‘I really appreciate that they have seen me through.’’
Over the last 12 months, she has gradually become a household name after taking part in the Telstra Road to Discovery contest last year and being named a NSW finalist.
Imogen said the contest held by Telstra helped her gain the confidence and reassurance she needed.
‘‘It has helped me with confidence and taught me that you can make music into your career path if you try hard,’’ Imogen said.
‘‘It was a great way for me to meet people and create contacts.’’
She also received an honourable mention at the International Songwriting Competition last year.
