When artists Gerald and Margo Lewers bought their Emu Plains home back in the 1940s they saw it as a place for creative minds to gather and share their experiences.
These days, at the Penrith Regional Gallery and Lewers Bequest, that tradition continues in the form of the twice-yearly Forage and Feast markets.
"The Lewers bought the property in the '40s, making it their permanent home and studio from the 1950s," spokeswoman Dimity Mullane said.
"So, continuing this tradition the market allows the contemporary makers to showcase and sell their wares."
The winter market, held in the River Road gallery's grounds, is on Sunday, June 1, 10am-3pm.
It will feature more than 30 stalls selling art, craft, jewellery, plants, vintage collectables, fashion, homewares, candles and curios.
"The gallery provides an idyllic space for artisans to showcase their wares and for shoppers to have an enjoyable experience," Ms Mullane said.
There will be wine tasting by Dusty Buzzard, a performance by The Blue Mugs ukulele band, children's activities, free exhibitions and delicious food.
For stallholder Alison King of My Red Scooter it's the second experience of the Forage and Feast Market. Her bold, bright resin jewellery is "inspired by the beauty and simplicity of days gone by".
"The market is set in a fantastic location surrounded by the gallery and lovely gardens," she said.
