Riverstone lived up to its "best little country town in Sydney" reputation on Saturday.
Thousands flocked to the town for the Riverstone Festival, regarded as the town's biggest day of the year.
People travelled from as far as Melbourne to witness the parade and enjoy all the festival had to offer.
"It was the best one we've had," festival spokeswoman Judith Lewis said.
"Everyone approved of the new layout.
"Most of the stallholders I spoke to were happy with the day's trading.
"The parade was highly successful and everyone had a ball.
"One of the former railway staff involved in the parade had relatives fly up from Melbourne. Blacktown Council did a fantastic job of organising the parade."
Apart from the street parade, the children's rides were among the other big attractions.
"We had a lot of people here early in the morning and there were still a lot around when the festival ended at 3pm," Mrs Lewis said.
"It's the one day of the year the whole community gets together."
